Inspirations

From national parks to magical landscapes, Cindy's inspiration largely came from places referencing to real life to a varying degree along with the generous usage of color value to bring out the highlights of each of of her illustration work. The same applied to her design work. Cindy's usual places of inspiration ranges from experiencing the smallest things in everyday life including seeing, or listening to just about anything. This could be listening to a calm music composed by Peder B. Helland on a quiet evening, witnessing a beautiful vibrant scenery from the movie Weathering Away, seeing a nice photo from somewhere in the world, or just the smell of morning air nearby Lake Ontario. These things helped her focus on appreciating what is at present, which is the implicit theme to many of her works. Cindy saw graphic design as an array of artforms consisting of different methodologies to express such themes. This included digital illustration, animation, web design, and many more.
